We have produced a Visual Basic Function AmountInWords() that converts an amount as a number to the amount in words. The known applications are Cheque Printing, Prescription Drug Dose Printing in hospital pharmacies, and for the year part of dates on certificates and diplomas.
For example :
AmountInWords(1234.56)
would return
One thousand two hundred and thirty four pounds and 56 pence or
One thousand two hundred and thirty four .56
It works in Visual Basic 3 and 4, and in Access 2, 7 and 97. So will presumably work in the other flavours too.
We even have a Clipper / dBASE III version.
For more details, send us an e-mail.
Download a Visual Basic 3 demo of the Function from here. It is aiw16.exe, and is approx 11K. (10,856)
You need the Visual Basic 3 runtime -VBRUN300.DLL If you do not have it we suggest that you get it from Microsoft. You will always get the current version from there.
You can download the 12 May 1993 version from here. It is approx 400K (398,416)
